AYdate Ideas : Gardens By The Bay

On 9th August, when we got a pair of free tickets for the National Day Parade, we thought of spending the whole day before the parade going to those places that were free or on 50% off because of the Jubilee Weekend. We bought a pair of tickets to Gardens By The Bay for 2 Conservatories at $10 each. The usual retail price for that was $20 per person so instead of paying $40, we only paid $20!

The reason why I have never been to this place even though it was launched a loOoOoOong time ago was because Yat has already been there before and after visiting the place, I understand why Yat was rather unwilling to go there again for the second time. BUT I REALLY WANTED TO GO...so he gave in hehe.

But then, when we were there on 9th August, IT WAS CHAOTIC. There were so many people and there was long queues everywhere! Even going to the toilet or buying drinks at McDonalds! There were too many people to our liking and we really do not like how it might make walking around seems unbearable. But lucky us because...

So we bought half priced ticket and we could go anytime till 31st August! We decided to go on a day that will not have a big crowd.

Which was yesterday, seeing how it was a weekday and it was not a school holiday - it was indeed a perfect day to check the place out.

As we have already collected our tickets during national day, we managed to skip the queue at the ticketing booth. A good tip for you : just buy the tickets online! It saves the hassle of queueing up for the tickets.

The first conservatory we went to was the Flower Dome!

Pardon my photo vomit - but Yat took really amazing photos with the GoPro yesterday!

Hahahahahahahaaha but I cannot resist!

(Nope, picture above is not edited at all.)

Basically, the place is photoworthy. The place is cooling, so you do not have to worry about sweating and stinking up the whole place or be uncomfortable because of the heat. They also have a cafe inside the conservatory, so you can rest your tired, aching feet there and get a cup of coffee first before you continue walking. It is wheelchair and elderly friendly because of the elevators almost everywhere so you can always bring your parents or grandparents too!

Next up was the Cloud Forest and that place is breathtaking!

That is a man-made waterfall and there are a few levels inside it that you can discover.

This is Yat's attempt at an artsy fartsy shot.

This place is amazing. But if you are afraid of heights, it will be pretty boring for you if you don't go on the trail inside Cloud Forest.

We wanted to go to the OCBC Skyway, but was told that the waiting time was 1 hour. We were both famished so we decided to go some other time. Meh. It would have been the cherry on top of my whipped cream but it is okay! The ticket for the skyway is $5 each for adults if you are wondering.

So the next time you have no idea where to go for your next date, you can consider Gardens By The Bay and impress your date with your artsy fartsy shot of her like how Yat impressed me yesterday hehe.
