Wedding Bells : Shamrin's Wedding

It was my cousin's solemnization ceremony this evening. I love weddings for the good food, the cousins reunion, the looking pretty and also being the photowhore for the day.

Hehe. Last minute DIY nail painting session last night before I head out with the girls for the impromptu karaoke session at Ming Arcade.

By now it should be clear that my favourite colour is obviously those that falls in these hues. *hint hint

So anyway, I only got to know about the wedding a week ago, so I didn't really have anything to wear. So eldest sis and I met up after work on Wednesday and heade to Tanjong Katong Complex to get something to wear for the wedding. If you looked closely, the three of us wore the same thing, just in different colours. The top was only $25, while the skirt was $15. Our total outfit only cost $40 each and to me, that's a good price for a set.

What hurts me was that the colour that I wanted (baby blue) only left with size XS and L. Size S fit me perfectly, while XS was a little too tight on my chest. I really do not want any other colour other than the blue, so I took size L with the intention of altering it to the size S cutting (in which I bought for my younger sister, in rose gold). What I forgot was that when I bought it on Wednesday night, Thursday was Chinese New Year eve and I need it on Friday. No way in hell the tailor shop that I frequent will be open during this period. So I was frantically finding for a makcik who is willing to do alterations at the last minute. What I also do not know is that... I have no contacts whatsoever on any makcik who is able to do last minute alterations who resides in Northeast. Sad.

I ended up wearing a size L top for the wedding anyway. Please ignore the fact that my shoulder cutting is way, way off my shoulders. Like in this photo.

One thing I learnt is that, always have a good fit on your clothes because it affects how you look in it. I look fat in that top, but the fact that it was in blue, made everything go away. Hehe. (Ps: I do not want to admit I am fat, because face it, baju kurung cab make anyone look like they lost 8kg AND enjoy the buffet spread at the same time)

Bought my necklace (and also the rest of the sisters') at Nex, at $19 for 2 necklaces and earrings at $10 for 3. Really cheap deals. Shoes were from Rubi, with the courtesy of Hafiz's 50% staff discount, so $20 for a pair of wedges. Thank god I'm not on heels, because the last time I was on heels, I was pretty sure I swore to never be on heels for more than 2 hours ever again (read: Social Night).

If you ask me, being a budget barbie is the best thing ever, and spending less than $100 for a total attire (inclusive of accessories, shoes & bags) is the best thing ever.

Here's some photo spam during the event.

This is Naomi.

Let me end this post with my favourite picture of the day. These are all my good looking cousins. There are more that are not in this picture though. Maybe on the next wedding.

Till the next post. :*
